Sh. A.S. Chatha joined the I.A.S cadre of Punjab in 1963 and served his duty with distinction till his retirement in the year 1995. He made a noteworthy contribution in the following assignments:
1) As the MD of Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation from 1972-1977 and subsequently as the Secretary of Dept. of Industries. He planned and implemented a number of large and medium enterprises to strengthen the Industrial sector which was dominated by cottage and small scale Industries, and to heighten the necessity and urgency for technology and managerial up-gradation with a view to improve productivity, cost and quality competitiveness.
2) As the Home Secretary from 1990-1992 and as the Chief Secretary from 1992-1995 with Late S. Beant Singh, the then Chief Minister. Along with this, he led the state administration successfully to achieve the objectives like; Restoration of Law & Order, Restoration of democratic structure by holding elections for rural and urban local bodies, Restoration of fiscal health of the state by mobilizing tax and non-tax revenue, particularly by introducing user charges across the board, and Restoration of fiscal health of the state by mobilizing tax and non-tax revenue.
After his retirement, he worked as the Chairman of the Third Finance Commission in the Captain Amrinder Singh’s govt. and also worked as the member of his advisory committee for Industrial Development.

Sh. K. N. Pathak is a Former Vice Chancellor of Panjab University, Sh. K. N. Pathak, ranked 1st in M.Sc in 1962, which he pursued from Allahabad University. Pathak Kare Narain completed his PhD from I.I.T, Kanpur. Many rewards and awards were conferred upon him, such as in 1977 he received Alexander von Humboldt Senior fellowship Award, in 1991 UGC National Fellowship Award, 1992 Indian Academy of Sciences, and many more. In 1983, he became the Fellow of National Academy of Sciences and then for the term 1992-1998, he served as the Senior Associate Member of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy. In the year 1996, he was awarded with the esteemed Meghnad Saha Award by UGC, in 2001, he received an award from the Fellow, Punjab Academy of Sciences, and in 2008 he became the Fellow of Indian National Science Academy. He is also the founder member of Society for Scientific Values, New Delhi.

Dr. Kuldeep Singh Dhindsa is a world known scientist and professor, who holds many laurels for his successful professional career. He has held positions like the Head of the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, Director of Student’s Welfare, Director Students Counseling & placement, Dean, Basic Sciences & Humanities, Vice-Chairman, Campus School, and International Students Advisor etc. Ex-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi honored him with the Indian National Science Academy Award in 1976. Prof. Dhindsa has made outstanding contributions in the field of Inorganic and Biological Chemistry. In the year 1990, he was awarded with Fulbright Scholarship and in the same year was elected as the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London. After retirement from Haryana Agricultural University (HAU), he joined MM Group of institutions, Mullana (Ambala) as the Director General. In 2007, he became the Director General of JCD Vidyapeeth, Sirsa.

Mr. Purshottam Lal retired as a DG, Police in Punjab cadre, Mr. Lal carved a niche for himself in his area of service because he has always been an achiever in whatever field he chose to work in. A Masters in Science (M.Sc) from the Lucknow University, Mr. Lal took up his specializing subject as Physics. He completed M.Sc in First Division in the year 1966 and his next big step was to prepare for the IPS services exam for which he appeared and cleared to become an officer in Punjab cadre in 1969. Before serving as an officer in the Indian Police Services, Mr. Lal worked as a Lecturer of Physics in his alma-matter, Lucknow University for a short span of 3 years (1966-1969).
After joining the IPS, he held various posts of repute like SSP, Kapurthala; SSP, Gurdaspur; DIG, CBI; DIG, Security, Punjab; IG, Commando; IG, Administration; IG, Provisioning. His farsightedness and acumen made him a dedicated and an enterprising professional who served the country and the services with undying commitment. Besides being a well read professional, Mr. Lal has had foreign exposure as he has travelled extensively to countries like the USA, UK, Northern Ireland, France, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Australia.

Lt. Gen (Retd.) Kulwant Singh Mann, started his career by joining the army for training in June 1958 at the Indian Military Academy at Dehradun. After completing high school from a reputed school in Pune, Lt. Mann completed Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Defence Services Staff College, Wellington (India). Commissioned into the infantry – Bihar Regiment on 12 June 1960 as an officer, Lt. Mann proved his mettle since he retired from the Army as a 3 Star General. He has been honored with the Highest Peace Time Award – Param Vishist Sewa Medal, by the President of India during Republic Day in Jan 1996 for service to the Nation of the most exceptional order.

Brig. N.S. Sandhu (Retd.) was born on the 1st of September 1932, Amritsar, in a distinguished family of freedom fighters. Throughout the course of his service, Brig. Sandhu has received many honorable awards out of which one the most reputable honor received by him is the Maha Vir Chakra. His father, late S .Hari Singh was also a true nationalist who took part in a number of freedom struggles. He was honored with the "Tamra Patra" award. Brig. N S Sandhu completed his schooling from DAV school, Amritsar and graduated from the National Defence Academy, Pune and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. Selected by the Government of India as Group Leader of Indian delegation for participation in the Festival of India in USSR, Brig. Sandhu stayed there for four weeks to study their programs related to Education, Culture, Youth Activities and Human Resource Development. He has chaired various positions, Member Senate, Guru Nanak University (Amristar), Chairman, Board of Defence Studies, Snr. Vice President, Khalsa College (Amritsar), Director NCC Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, Director Youth Services, Punjab. He has also served United Nations Emergency Force at Gaza, Egypt at the designation, Personal Staff Officer.

Maj. Gen. Savinder Singh Sandhu (Retd.) has held various esteemed designations during the course of his 35 years service in defence, such as Commander Works Engineer, General Staff Officer Grade 1 at the Staff Duties Directorate Army headquarters, Additional Chief Engineer of Western and Southern Commands, Chief Engineer Bombay Zone, Commandment Bombay Sappers and Assistant Director General of Works at the Army headquarters. Apart from this, he served for two tenures in the parachute Brigade after getting his Para Wings in 1960. Besides attending engineering course, he attended Defence Services Staff College Course and Long Defence Management Course. Being a sports enthusiast he partook in sports like football, squash, hockey, etc. Also, during 1961 he participated in operations such as ‘Vijay’ and ‘Cactus Lily’.
